so many things. ok whatever comes to mind. no script. #lezzgo
so yesterday was zone conference. well. yesterday and monday. on manday we got to watch the 2017 missionary broadcast and let me tell you. it was fan-diddly-tastic. like. so many notes and impressions of how to improve with specific investigators and their needs in mind. #fire #spiritoffire and then yesterday zone conference ended at like. 9. and trying to find a bus back to banban. at 9 at night. in the rain. it was a expereince. eventually begged the zone leaders to give us a ride until they did. woot.

ohyeah! on saturday! we had a baptism?!? and it was amaze. this bro. is the bro of all bros. the best bro. he's the best. his name is kenson(kenny) my comp and i along with 4 other companionships had a baptism on saturday. such a happy day. so many smiles and selfies.

on thursday? we went up to the bush with a caulking gun and some hot glue and fixed a missionary house. like. the whole house. with only caulk and hot glue. #legendary. so there's 2 sisters who used to serve in banban who are going home the first of march so. a mama in my area requested that they come and have a. last kakae. had laplap sosore. it was amazing. we (being 6 missionaries and the mama's family) didn't finish the whole thing. it's made from a root crop called manyoke so. very heavy on the stomach. but really delicious even though in the picture it doesn't really look that great. but if it's hot and fresh. it's pretty amaze.

transfer calls don't come until saturday but i'm 95% sure im staying due to some ,perhaps unintentional, hints dropped by president.

i think i'll send some more pix cuz i'm too lazy to explain. sorry friends.
have a good day~ bonne journee!
that's all for now!

failings and success

hello friends.

this week has been a bit of a roller coaster.

so our area used to be the area of the sister training leaders. and the STL's work'd hardcore. so there's a lot of following up on former investigators and such. so this week, after having swap'd stories with the former stl's, went and tried to find some of the people they used to teach.

and so we walk up to this house we've walked past probably 15 times. andddd we teach the whole family and they're pretty stoked/excited to talk with us. which was refreshing. and! they came to church on sunday. they're progressing pretty great. understanding all the stuff we teach them and keeping commitments and such. really great. lots of hope for their future.

another fun thing that happened. im getting better and better about distinguishing drunk people from not drunk people. a basic life skill for many people in this world but. i haven't really had to develop it until now. but all is well. watching drunk people dance down the street is really funny tbh...

oh yeah. also transfers came. anddddddddddddd we're staying. but! we're the newly assigned maintenance elders! which means more responsibilities. but also! we get a truck! no more waiting for a bus for 30 minutes! huzzah! but this also means that other missionaries are gonna be begging me for rides like all the time now. for better or for worse i guess.

the work moves forward.
but. my sd card is sick with one or more viruses so. we'll see how many pictures come through.

love y'all. k byeeeee

the rising

so i have no experience whatsoever with farm work but i think this is how milk works. so like. if you leave un touched cow milk for a while. i think? it's true that the cream rises to the top and then you can take the cream and leave the skim milk for some vegetarian. right?

if so that was this week. some people rising to the top, progressing. becoming better. and all that and some other people are just. skim milk. i'm sorry i enjoy extended idioms/euphemisms/etc.. anywho.
so theres this mama named misha. she's pretty chill. i think i wrote about her last week but not by name. we went by her house this week and it was kinda raining which is crap because here in vanuatu everyone basically lives outside. the only things indoors being the thin foam mattresses they sleep on. anywho. it was raining and she denied us teaching cuz rain so made a appointment for the next morning. came back and found she'd moved to her sisters house after some epic family troubles. really sad... we're gonna go and try and find her sister's house this week cuz she's #worthit

then there's my b0i kenson. he's the best ever. he's gonna be baptized this saturday. he's the bomb diggity. like. i can just see him filling out his missionary papers and goin to another country and sharing the gospel. #seetheminwhite he's the best. and he had 2 friends who were wanting to study with the missionaries too but the sad thing is that they(the two friends) don't live at kenson's house and they don't have a phone so we can't call them and i wish we could teach them more. that whole squad is just. amaze.

other news. last monday we had the best district activity ever. it was also really really wet cuz of the rain and rivers and the cave but it was the best. anywho. see some pix. too lazy to explain. i'll probs send home the sd card with all of the pix at some future date.

zone conference is next week! wooooooo we get to watch the world wide missionary brodcast! it's gonna be the best. this transfer has gone super super fast. like. what the what. there's only one more week. wowie,.

sorry a book. talk later (i e next wednesday!)
that's all for now.

the lost hunnid, squirtle squad and temporal darkness

hello friends. this week has been a very eventful and busy week. i'll only talk about a couple things.

first. so this week had the first of the month in it! so you know what that means! paying bills! and missionaries have been in this house that i'm living in for exactly 3 months of unpaid bills! meaning, the power company truck came by and turned off our power in the middle of the day while we were out proselyting and.. we came back and lived in temporal darkness for a night. it actually wasn't that bad. the tile floor was nice and cool and our meat in the freezer didn't go bad! huzzah! it was fixed within the next day. there was a error in the whole. who gets sent the bill thing. anywho.

the lost hunnid. so theres this dude. that's like 1/2 of all vanuatu but ok it gets better. so his name is evong. he was baptized back in 2010. legit. then he moved in with some one, had some kiddies, back slid to his old days of sin and smoke and stopped coming to church. not so legit. so we're talking with the former branch president (that's a whole other story) and he tells us about evong and so we go. to his house. he and all his buddies/the whole freakin community is gambling. but! we're warmly welcomed, given a huge plate of rice and... soup. ate that. still gambling. we left. as we were leaving, they invited us back that night to come and 'stori gud' so we came back. everyone else was still gambling but our less active and his woman were sitting on a mat waiting for us. we teach him. he admits his flaws (with us not asking him to tell us them) and tells us that he wants us to teach his wife so she can be baptized and they all come back to church. #str8 hunnids they're the best. lots of hope for them!

one more story then i gotta go. also side note i lost my 1/2 broken adapter

soo...there's this dude in our area. a while ago, before we went to gaua, we were teaching his wife. we go back to teach her again, and he's standing there with a bush knife ready to cut a bro. no just kidding. he's sleeping in a hammock and hears us coming up. we teach him and his wife. he's like. super interested in tithing and fasting (asking questions about the rich mormon church, asking if he joins the church will he become rich) but we commit him to fasting with us about his land dispute. really great lesson. slo slo nomo. no hariap tumas.

life is good. that's all for now!
